ACCOMMODATION

Thessaloniki offers a wide range of accommodation options, with a substantial number of 5-star hotels and a smaller selection of 4-star properties. Despite this, hotel prices remain relatively low compared to most other European cities. The city’s 5-star hotels provide exceptional hospitality and luxury amenities—such as outdoor swimming pools—at very competitive rates, making them an excellent value-for-money choice.

In addition, there is a plentiful supply of centrally located 3-star hotels that offer comfortable, high-quality stays at significantly lower prices. Further accommodation options include pensions, bed-and-breakfasts, short-let apartments (including Airbnb), youth and student hostels, and private rooms.

Many of these options are centrally located or up to 4 km from the city center.

There are hundreds of taverns everywhere in the city; in cobblestone alleys, along the waterfront, in open-air gardens that offer a wide range of Greek delicacies and spirits. Lunch including wine or ouzo will cost approximately €15-20. For those interested in savouring a gourmet Greek dish, there are also high end restaurants to satisfy the most demanding customer.
